Beginner c++ coder her, just wondering how I would take this and make it undetected for myself, if I were to not share it.

For a "beginner" your best bet is using some packer/protector like VMProtect and pray for the best.

Well, I just want to know for in a couple months when I actually know how to do stuff, what should I change about it to make it my own and undetected?

Properly implementing VMProtect for virtualization.

Hiding strings with xor encryption.

And most importantly and the hardest to do, making your hooks stealth by not touching the game modules vtable or integrity check of the .text section.
